All major streets and avenues in NYC now have designated, clearly marked "BUS ONLY'' lanes on the right hand side. This is for the benefit of the city buses to allow them to zip along without traffic. All other drivers are best advised to stay out of these lanes or else face a 2 point moving violation and possible fine of $150 for Disobeying Pavement Markings. So how does one make a right hand turn? Motorists are allowed to be in the right hand bus lane to make a right hand turn ONLY within 200 feet of the intersection
